Double Chocolate Chip Banana Bread (GF)

Updated: Jun 4, 2020

Tender with a delicious double dose of chocolate. An easy recipe, and the perfect way to switch up the classic banana bread.

Let's talk bread.

And by bread, I mean banana bread.

And by banana bread, I mean this super chocolatey bread, that happens to have bananas in it. Oh. And it's gluten free.

So is it really bread if there's no flour?

I think we can spend our time doing better things than debating what constitutes bread, and if gluten free is really better for you or not. We can be doing things like actually MAKING banana bread.

I have made a few banana breads, ranging from Choco Chip Peanut Butter, to a simple but Like Crack Banana Bread (kids, please don't do drugs).

This all came about as I was going through our cupboards, and realizing that we had a lot of flours in the kitchen. One of my biggest pet peeves is having too much of one thing. So naturally of course, this meant that I had to bake something to get rid of said flours...

Which brings us to...

This healthy Double Chocolate Chip Banana Bread.

This is seriously good bread.

In my opinion, it's a mix of devil’s food cake and banana bread. The consistency is so moist (sorry - can we find a different word?), and has the best chocolatey flavor to it. Honestly, there is more chocolate flavor than banana, but I still think we should call this banana bread.

I hope you guys love this recipe as much as I do. You know I love a good banana bread recipe.

Plus, who doesn’t like chocolate? If you don’t, I am not sure we can be friends... Just kidding...

My boyfriend was very judgy about the whole thing.

DOUBLE CHOCOLATE CHIP BANANA BREAD (GLUTEN-FREE)

  2. 1/4 cup creamy nut butter

  3. 2 eggs

  4. 1 cup almond flour

  5. 1/2 cup chickpea flour

  6. 1/4 cup cacao powder

  7. 1 tsp cinnamon

  8. 1 tsp baking powder

  9. ½ cup chocolate chips

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line a bread pan with parchment paper & grease the sides.

  2. Mix together bananas, nut butter and eggs in a medium bowl using a stand mixer (if you don’t have one just mix very well with a spatula).

  3. Add in the rest of the ingredients then fold in chocolate chips.

  4. Pour the mixture into the bread pan and bake for about 45 minutes (or until toothpick comes out clean).

  5. Let cool for a few minutes on a wire rack.

Serve and enjoy!

NOTES

This will stay good for about 5 days, in fridge for about 7 or you can put it in the freezer for a couple of months.
